Once again the apples disappeared this year faster than they ripened. The 240 semi-dwarf trees we planted last year should start producing by next year, which should help satisfy the ever-growing demand for organic u-pick apples. All our varieties and ripening times can be found here: Apple Varieties
The kiwi fruit just started producing this year, and we were able to provide some samples to those that made it out for apples. We planted over 400 vines last year, and provided we have no late spring frosts next year, we should have a decent crop.
Interestingly, we received a lot of calls for paw paw fruit this year. We only have 3 small trees that just started producing, but based on the rising interest, we may have to plant some more.
The blueberries this year were the best we’ve ever had! The sweetheart variety ripens up first, around the second week of July, and are absolutely amazing. We just planted another 1,000 bushes for next year, doubling our current production. You don’t want to miss these next year!
Our raspberry field was dismal this year, and looks like it needs to be completely replanted for next year.
From all of us at Paul’s Organic Farm, we thank you for your patronage, and look forward to seeing you in 2019!
