YES, we will have strawberries, but we are only growing ever-bearing day neutral berries this year, which will be ripe from mid-August until frost.
The cold weather has slowed the blueberry ripening, and it looks like we’ll have to hold off for another week (July 6th) before opening the field. The bushes have never looked better; they’re completely loaded with plump berries.
The raspberries are coming along nicely, and it looks like we’ll have them for the entire season (primocanes and floricanes) starting in a couple of weeks.
What few cherries we had this year we’re decimated by the birds in a scene reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie. I know we have a lot of cherry lovers out there, so we planted a couple dozen more trees this year that look amazing already.
The stone fruit is limited to nectarines and peaches this year; the plums, apricots and plumcots didn’t set fruit. We’ll keep you apprised of their progress.
The new apple field couldn’t look better, and some of the semi-dwarf grafted trees are actually already producing fruit!
We couldn’t be happier about their progress. We’ve pushed the opening back to next Thursday, July 6th, and we hope to see you all here.
